Romeo and Juliet- FRIDAY

Do now: As a table group, review your annotations for the pilgrim/saints sonnet.  As a group, draft an assertion statement about WHY Shakespeare uses pilgrims and saints imagery in this exchange.


Objectives:
  • demonstrate mastery of Act 1 Scene 5
  • use technology to summarize Act 1 Scene 5


Agenda:

  2. Reporter! Activity.  In table groups:
    1. You have been sent by E! News Online to report on the Capulet’s party (Act 1 Scene 5). Your news editor says, “Don’t forget to interview the servants-- they’re the ones who will really know! You need a 5-minute video for the website.”
    2. Draft a skeleton script for the news report (be sure to interview multiple people)
    3. Perform the news report, with someone in your group videotaping (you may go into the hallway as long as you don’t stray too far away).
    4. Upload completed videos into your Student Folder on Google Drive


HW: You will have a quiz on Act One on MONDAY. Areas to study: characters, plot, literary terms, drama terms. The format: matching, multiple choice, quote identification, and a paragraph open response.
